Prayers for Everyday
To Protect Your Home
Through God's grace, and the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, let my prayer be perpetual, and let it be answered in accordance with his will. Protect my home from evil. I pray oh Lord that it be a safe place in which to bring my friends and family. Let there be no foul spirits here, nor let dangerous entities enter this place. Let me always reside here in peace, love, and in harmony. I pray this in the name of Jesus, who came to wash away the sins of the world. Amen.
When Leaving Your Home
Today as I rise and tend to my day that I have received from the Lord, when I leave my home and set forth on my journey may Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, The Three Kings, Jasper, Melchior, and Balthazar be my travel companions. The heavens are my hat and the earth are my shoes. The Holy Trinity above me. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in front of me. The Three Kings beside me. And the Four Evangelists behind me for all time. Lead me to eternal happiness. Pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. Oh divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, yo be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
St. Francis Canticle of All Creatures
Most High, all-powerful, all-good Lord, all praise is yours, all glory, all honour and all blessings. To you alone, Most High, do they belong, and no mortal lips are worthy to pronounce your name.
Praised be you my Lord with all your creatures, especially Sir Brother Sun, who is the day through whom you give us light. And he is beautiful and radiant with great splendour, of you Most High, he bears the likeness.
Praised be you, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the Stars, In the heavens you have made them bright, precious, and fair.
Praised be you, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air. And fair and stormy, all weather’s moods, by which you cherish all that you have made.
Praised be you my Lord through Sister Water, so useful, humble, precious, and pure. Praised be you my Lord through Brother Fire through whom you light the night and he is beautiful, playful, robust, and strong.
Praised be you my Lord through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us producing varied fruits with coloured flowers and herbs. Praise be you my Lord through those who grant pardon for the love of you. And bear sickness and trial. Blessed are those who endure in peace. By you Most High they will be crowned.
Praised be you my Lord through Sister Death from whom no-one living can escape. Woe to those who die in mortal sin! Blessed are they she finds doing your will. No second death can harm them. Praise and bless my Lord. Give Him thanks, and serve him with great humility. Heavenly Father, you gave Your servant Francis great love for each of your creatures. Teach us to see Your design in all of creation. We ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.
Prayers for the Holy Trinity
Prayer to God the Father Almighty
God, my Eternal Father, from the deepest part of my soul I adore you. I am deeply grateful that you have made me in your image and likeness and that you hold me in your loving embrace. Direct me to love you with all my heart, all my soul, and all my strength. Direct me to love all of your children as I love myself. Oh my Father, my soul longs to be united with you, and to rest in you forever. Have the Holy Spirit touch my soul so that I may love you as he does, and as your beloved son our Lord Jesus does. Amen.
Prayers for Jesus Christ
Divine Child
Divine Child Jesus we believe in you, we adore you, and we love you. Have mercy on us sinners. We have come to this temple in response to your love. We have come in response to your mercy and grace. We are here because you invited us to come before you and pour out our hearts since you deeply care for each of us. We remember your words to the disciples; Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened. Trusting in your infinite goodness and trusting that you always keep your promise, we now ask this intention which we pray in the silence of our hearts. (make your request) Thank you, Divine Child Jesus, for listening attentively to our prayers. We hope that you will ask this before your Heavenly Father. And, if what we ask for may not be good for our salvation and sanctification, we trust that you will grant us instead what we truly need, so that one day we may be with you for all eternity enjoying ultimate happiness in heaven. Divine Child Jesus, bless and protect us. Divine Child Jesus, bless and lead us. Divine Child Jesus, bless and provide for us. All this we ask through the intercession of your Holy Mother Mary, and in your powerful and most Holy Name Jesus. Amen.
Ecce Homo
Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, born of the Virgin Mary, who did suffer so much in Thy Passion out of love for us, we remember this extreme suffering when Pilate abandoned Thee to the infuriated crowd, saying: "Ecce Homo: Behold the Man you are demanding to have crucified. I wash my hands of this." Lord Jesus, thou, the Man of Sorrows, the only consolation thou were given then was seeing, in the midst of this crowd, Thy Most Holy Mother, looking at thee with love, her eyes filled with tears because she compassionated with thy sufferings, both from the heart and from the body. Ecce Homo, thou truly art the Man of Sorrows foretold by the prophets, who did come to save the world by shedding thy most precious blood. Jesus, we love thee for those who do not love thee and we adore thee for those who refuse to adore thee. In the name of thy sorrowful Passion and the sufferings of thy Most Holy Mother, we beseech thee to grant us the grace that we currently need on this day. Amen.
Prayers for the Holy Spirit
One Spirit of the Father and the Son in whom we are all baptized, of whom we have all drunk, one giver of many gifts, one tree of many fruits, one speaker of every tongue, renew in our day the wonders of Pentecost. Grant that people of every race and nation may understand one another and as one proclaim the praises of God. Grant that all may be as one as you and the Father and Son are one. Grant unity to the body of Christ and every human family. Sole breath of every living thing, may all be one who in you live, move, and have their being. Amen
Morning Prayer
Holy Spirit, at creations first dawn you came forth to give form and life to all. Hear me at the beginning of this new day. Shape of my life today in the image of Christ, let nothing unpleasant be found in me. Illuminate my horizon with your flame, dispel all darkness from my mind, light the fire of love in my heart, and be the light I radiate today, and every day of my life.
Prayer for Midday
Higher than the midday sun may you rise flame of love in my heart. Brighter than the midday sun may you shine divine light in my soul. Warmer than the midday sun may you burn Pentecostal fire in my mind. Irradiate oh holy light to our world. Inflame in us divine fire. Fill our hearts and let love’s power prevail over our will.
Evening Prayer
At the setting of the sun, to you, unfailing light, I turn. I thank you for the day now fading, and pray you give a quiet evening to my spirit. Let me rest in you, that I may know the refreshment of my soul with peace in my heart. Silent, still, and attentive to you alone let my soul breath no other breath than you, oh Holy Spirit.
Prayer for the Night
In the stillness and silence as deep as the night, may my soul be before you, oh Holy Spirit. Radiate down upon me softer than starlight, close around me, closer than the darkness. Refresh me and renew me as dew falls and rainfall renews the earth. Stay with me oh Holy Spirit until the morning comes. And at the dawning of the new day be an even brighter sunburst in my soul.
Comfort from the Holy Spirit
Oh Holy Spirit be with me now and always, also in my doubts, anxieties, and trials. Come Holy Spirit in the hours of loneliness, weariness and grief. Come Holy Spirit in failure, in loss, and in disappointment. Come Holy Spirit when others fail me and when I fail myself. Come Holy Spirit when I’m ill, unable to work, and depressed. Come Holy Spirit now and forever and in all things come. Amen.
Prayers for the Blessed Souls of Purgatory
Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all of the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for all sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. Another Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Another
Divine glorifier of souls, at the end of your passion hanging on the cross of torments, ready to die and in agony, you forced the last seven words, "In thy hands I commend my spirit." You then died and later manifested yourself in the bosom of Abraham in order to glorify with your divine presence the blessed souls for the pain of the pains that penetrated the heart of your Sovereign Mother when she saw the light in your eyes dim at the hour of your demise. I commend to you, oh Lord, the Blessed Souls, so that when the pains, torments, and penuries of purgatory are over, your divine hands will receive them in order to glorify them in heaven. And those who so often have tried to take your life their faults, make it, most merciful Lord, that they truly repent at the hour of their deaths so they may say "In your hands I commend my spirit." And may I, my Lord, obtain what I ask for in this prayer if it be for your greater honor and the glorifying of my soul. Amen.
Prayer for a Repentant Spirit
God of mercy, you who accepts the sincere repentance of sinners, be them incarnate or not, here in front of you is a spirit that enjoyed doing bad deeds, but is now repentant and wanting to do the right thing. Please do receive him, oh Lord, as a prodigal son and forgive him. Good spirits you’ve never heard his voice before, but now count him among your number, let him see the joy of those who are blessed by God so he may strive to go after this joy. Sustain him and his efforts to resist the attraction of evil, and continue to reinforce his desire to be part of the world of good. Repentant spirit I congratulate you on your conversion and I give praise to the spirits who helped you reach this point. Amen.
